The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today attended an interactive session with over 40 economists and other experts, organized by NITI Aayog, on the theme “Economic Policy – The Road Ahead.”

During the session, participants shared their views, in five distinct groups, on the economic themes of macro-economy and employment, agriculture and water resources, exports, education, and health.

Halwa ceremony marking the commencement of Budget printing process for the General Budget 2019-20 was held in North Block here today afternoon in the august presence of the Union Minister of Finance & Corporate Affairs, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman.

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj organized a seminar on Yoga and Yoga practice program in the Premises of Jeevan Prakash Building in New Delhi today, on the occasion of International DayofYoga. The Chief Guest ShriSanjay Singh,Additional Secretary said on this occasion that Yoga is a 5,000-year-old tradition of India that combines physical, mental and spiritual activities to achieve the harmony of body and mind.

The 35th GST Council Meeting was the First Meeting of the Council after the swearing in of the new Government. The Meeting took place in a cordial and professional manner.

At the start of the Meeting, the Council passed a resolution acknowledging the stellar role played by Shri Arun Jaitley, the former Chairperson of GST Council and expressed its gratitude and appreciation for the exemplary contribution made by him in making the GST Council a shining example of co-operative federalism that it has become today.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today chaired a Meeting of Party Presidents of all political parties having representation in Parliament, here today. 21 Party Presidents attended the meeting.
