President of India in Benin; leads delegation level talks with President of Benin

The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, reached Cotonou, Benin yesterday (July 28, 2019) on the first leg of his state visits to three West African nations – Benin, Gambia and Guinea. This visit is the first-ever visit of Head of State/Head of Government of India to each of the three countries.

IN LCU L-56 Commissioned into the Indian Navy

IN LCU L56,  the sixth ship of the Landing Craft Utility(LCU) MK IV class was commissioned into the Indian Navy by Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain, AVSM, VSM Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command at an impressive ceremony held at Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam today, 29 Jul 19. Vice Admiral AK Saxena, PVSM AVSM Controller of Warship Production & Acquisition IHQMoD(N), Maj General Biji Mathew, Chief of Staff, Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC), Commodore Ashutosh Ridhorkar, Naval Component Commander (NAVCC) ANC, Rear Admiral VK Saxena (Retd) CMD, Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) along with all Flag Officers of ENC and other dignitaries were present during the commissioning ceremony.

K Natarajan Takes Over As DG of Indian Coast Guard

            Shri Krishnaswamy Natarajan took over as 23rd chief of Indian Coast Guard here today. A 5th Batch Officer of the Indian Coast Guard, he joined service in January 1984. During the initial years, he specialised in select core competencies viz. Search and Rescue as well as Maritime Safety and Port Operations, at the US Coast Guard Reserve Training Centre, Yorktown, Virginia.
