The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Fifth India International Science Festival by addressing the audience at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Kolkata through video conference on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 4:00 PM.

The four-day science festival is being organized in Kolkata from November 5 to November 8, 2019.

Four Guinness World Records slated during the 5th India International Science Festival

As many as four Guinness World Records will be attempted during the course of the 5th India International Science Festival (IISF) beginning in Kolkata on Tuesday, November 5, 2019.

On the opening day of the four-day mega event, the largest astrophysics lesson and assembly of spectroscopes will be attempted with the participation of over 1,750 students.

Government of India to Set Up & Strengthen AHTUs & WHDs in States Across the Country

On October 22nd 2019,the Empowered Committee (EC) under Nirbhaya Framework, chaired by Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development, favourably appraised  two proposals to develop systems for operationalization of Women Help Desks (WHDs) in police stations, for expansion of Anti-Human-Trafficking-Units (AHTUs) to all districts, and for identified officers for dealing with crime and policing matters pertaining to women and children at district and States/ UT levels across the country.
