The National Cadet Corps (NCC), the largest uniformed youth organisation in the world, is celebrating its 71stRaising Day today.  The celebrations began yesterdaywith Defence Secretary Dr Ajay Kumar and DG NCC Lt Gen Rajeev Choprapaying homage to the martyrs, who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation, at the National War Memorial in New Delhi.

 Minister of State (I/C) for Culture & Tourism, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel and Chief Minister of Manipur, Shri N. Biren Singh jointly inaugurated the 8th International Tourism Mart today  at Imphal, Manipur.

The Vice President Shri M Venkaiah Naidu today said that governance and public administration must serve as instruments to reach out to the deprived communities. He stressed that uplifting the poorest of the poor and empowering the marginalized sections of society were crucial elements in national development.
