“Gaganyaan” space astronauts will start their training this month, most likely in the third week of January.

This was disclosed here today by the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh who also said that the training of the astronauts for India’s first human space mission will take place in Russia.

Secretary, MHRD, Shri Amit Khare held a meeting with Vice Chancellor, (VC), Prof. Yogesh Kumar Tyagi along and the Registrar of University of Delhi at 4:00 PM today at Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi.

The University authorities apprised the Secretary that the administration is taking all steps to implement the decisions arrived at as per the Record of Discussions held on 5th December, 2019 in MHRD.
