There have been 2,335 incidents of Cease Fire Violations (CFVs) along Line of Control in Jammu region since 30 May 2019 (formation of current Government) till 20 January, 2020.  In addition, 177 incidents of cross-border firing along Indo-Pak International Border in Jammu region since 30 May 2019 till 15 January 2020.

The duties and functions of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) include the following:

To head the Department of Military Affairs in Ministry of Defence and function as its Secretary.
To act as the Principal Military Advisor to Hon’ble Raksha Mantri on all Tri-Service matters.

On 31 Jan 2020, IAF achieved another milestone, when an AN-32 aircraft of the Indian Air Force, powered with a 10% blend of Indian bio-jet fuel took-off from Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, Leh. This is the first time that both engines of the aircraft were powered by the bio-jet indigenous fuel.
