Union Minister of Human Resource Development Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, who heads the Indian National Commission for Co-operation with UNESCO, met the Director General UNESCO, Ms Audrey Azoulay in New Delhi today.

Taking forward the tourism cooperation between the two countries, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, Minister for Tourism & Culture (IC) met Mr. Harry Theoharis, Minister for Tourism of Greece today in New Delhi.

Department of Military Affairs (DMA) with Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) as Secretary was created to facilitate optimal utilization of resources and promote jointness among the three Services. As per the Second Schedule to Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules 1961, the following subjects were allocated to DMA:-

The Armed Forces of the Union, namely, Army, Navy and Air Force.

A study team is preparing the road map for creation of an Air Defence Command.

The purpose of the road map is to come up with proposal of integrating the Air Defence resources of the different services under a single agency, so as to ensure jointness and optimisation of resources, procedures and communication arrangements.

Various strategies have been firmed up and reforms introduced to enhance Defence exports.  These measures are listed below:

Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment and Technologies (SCOMET) Category 6 titled “ Munitions List” that was hitherto “Reserved”  has been populated and Military Stores list notified vide Notification No.115(RE-2013)/2009-2014 dated 13th March 2015 stands rescinded.
