The hospitals concerned have conducted contact tracing as required and arranged cleaning for disinfection. All related staff members had worn appropriate personal protective equipment at work. No patient has been identified as a close contact so far. Since some of the above-mentioned staff members had been eating or chatting with other staff members without wearing masks, 24 staff members have been identified as close contacts. Arrangements will be made for them to be quarantined and tested as required.
Regarding a patient care assistant (PCA) and a 62-year-old male patient of a psychogeriatric ward of PYNEH who tested preliminarily positive for COVID-19 recently, the hospital has conducted contact tracing. A PCA of the Physiotherapy Department who worked in the ward tested preliminarily positive for COVID-19. The hospital is still investigating the linkage among the three cases. The PCA concerned is being treated under isolation with stable condition. Admission to the ward concerned has continued to be suspended. Thorough cleaning and disinfection were arranged for the ward concerned and the Physiotherapy Department.
The Physiotherapy Department in Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital was closed today for deep cleaning and disinfection. About 200 patient appointments were rescheduled.
In light of the deteriorating epidemic situation, the HA again reminds its staff to minimise social activities and avoid having meals with other staff members. Staff members should also wear appropriate personal protective equipment at work.
