Supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Toronto) (Toronto ETO), six movies are being featured at the 2024 Fantasia International Film Festival from July 18 to August 4 in Montreal, Canada, to showcase the vibrancy of Hong Kong's creative industries.
Speaking before the premiere screening of the "Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In" in Canada on August 1 (Montreal time), the Director of the Toronto ETO, Ms Emily Mo, highlighted the support and efforts of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government (HKSARG) in supporting Hong Kong's movie industry and strengthening Hong Kong's role as a bridge between East and West for international cultural exchanges.
She added that the HKSARG was working closely with the industry to create more films that satisfy global audiences by financing film productions, training, and participation in international film festivals. New initiatives were also introduced to promote Hong Kong-European-Asian film collaborations.
The other Hong Kong films at the Festival are: "The Avenging Eagle", "A Chinese Ghost Story II", "Killer Constable", "A Legend" and "Out of the Shadow".
