Hong Kong Customs signs AEO Mutual Recognition Arrangement Action Plan with Macao Customs (with photos)

     The Assistant Commissioner of Customs and Excise (Excise and Strategic Support), Mr Rudy Hui, today (September 14) attended the Bilateral Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) Meeting held at the Headquarters of Macao Customs Service and signed the AEO MRA Action Plan with the Acting Assistant Director-General of Macao Customs Service, Mr Ip Va-chio. This marks the commencement of a formal negotiation stage for AEO mutual recognition between the two sides.

     The signing of the AEO Action Plan is an important milestone for the coming implementation of the MRA which indicates the strengthened collaboration between both Customs administrations in the international supply chain security co-operation, sustainable development in trade facilitation, and promotion of the economic development in the Greater Bay Area. 

     Mr Hui, together with a Hong Kong Customs delegation, also visited a Macao AEO company this afternoon to understand the standards of accreditation under the Macao AEO Programme.
