Hong Kong Cinema showcase at Chicago’s Asian Pop-up Cinema

     Supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, New York (HKETONY), the latest spring season of Chicago's Asian Pop-Up Cinema will feature six Hong Kong productions in the theatre and online from today (March 28, Chicago time) to April 3.
 
     The in-person screening of "Bamboo Theatre" by Cheuk Cheung is among the highlights. This documentary explores the unique pop-up theatres built with bamboo scaffolding, and the events and people at this unique cultural space.
 
     Other featured titles include Ann Hui's "Love After Love", Emily Chan's "Madalena" and Kearen Pang's "Mama's Affair".
 
     Rounding up the selection will be a special preview of the drama series "I Swim", directed by Fung Chih Chiang. This drama is Fung's debut in television, adapting his own novel.
 
     HKETONY Director, Candy Nip said that the diverse lineup showcases the diversity of Hong Kong cinema, and the versatility of the city's creative talents.
