The Hong Kong Public Libraries (HKPL) of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department has launched a new podcast channel, 24/7 Story Pavilion. Guests from various sectors will share their reading experiences and recommend related books in the programmes, while HKPL Story Ambassadors will narrate articles from selected books to help more members of the public broaden their horizons while enjoying the online audio programmes and learning more about the rich and diverse reading resources of the HKPL.
The first four episodes of 24/7 Story Pavilion, under the theme "Hong Kong Stories", are now available. Content creator J Lou, television travel host Chris Leung and Hong Kong table tennis athlete Minnie Soo will share with listeners topics of street food in Hong Kong, the city's unique sights of neon lights and the striving spirit and resilience of its people in the episodes and recommend related books. An HKPL Story Ambassador will also share a book about Hong Kong's historical anecdotes in one of the episodes and narrate an interesting article selected from the book.
In addition, listeners can click on the webpage links on the episode pages of 24/7 Story Pavilion to read the books discussed in the podcast in the "Pop-up e-Book" collection of the HKPL without logging in, or borrow relevant e-books or reserve printed books after logging into their HKPL accounts.
