The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels (HKETO, Brussels) and Create Hong Kong (CreateHK) are supporting the screening of seven Hong Kong films at the 8th Asian Film Festival Barcelona from November 23 to December 8 (Barcelona time).
Following the latest COVID-19 restrictions in Barcelona, the Asian Film Festival Barcelona this year is organised in a hybrid format with five Hong Kong films being shown in theatres and two through online screenings. The seven Hong Kong films include one thriller, five dramas and one romance produced between 2018 and 2020. They are "A witness out of the blue" by Director Fung Chih-chiang, "Beyond the dream" by Director Kiwi Chow, "Distinction" by Director Jevons Au, "I still remember" by Director Lik Ho, "Lion rock" by Director Nick Leung, "My Prince Edward" by Director Norris Wong and "The secret diary of a mom to be" by Director Luk Yee-sum.
Before screening each of the seven films, HKETO, Brussels promoted, through a video, the importance of creative industries in Hong Kong and the support that CreateHK has provided to the industry all along, particularly at the current difficult time. HKETO, Brussels also thanked the organiser for its efforts in bringing these Hong Kong films to the Spanish audience despite the current challenges.
The Asian Film Festival Barcelona is celebrating its eighth anniversary this year. Around 100 films from over 25 countries and regions produced between 2018 and 2020 are shown during the festival.
