HAD distributes complimentary COVID-19 rapid test kits to households, cleansing workers and property management staff in Eastern District, North District, Kwai Tsing, Sha Tin, Tsuen Wan, Kwun Tong and Wong Tai Sin (with photos)

     In light of the positive test results for the COVID-19 virus from some sewage samples collected in Eastern District, North District, Kwai Tsing, Sha Tin, Tsuen Wan, Kwun Tong and Wong Tai Sin, the Home Affairs Department (HAD) said today (March 28) that the Eastern District Office (EDO), the North District Office (NDO), the Kwai Tsing District Office (K&TDO), the Sha Tin District Office (STDO), the Tsuen Wan District Office (TWDO), the Kwun Tong District Office (KTDO) and the Wong Tai Sin District Office (WTSDO) will distribute a total of about 290 000 COVID-19 rapid test kits to households, cleansing workers and property management staff living and working in the districts.     

     The EDO and the NDO distributed rapid test kits to households, cleansing workers and property management staff living and working in Yiu Tung Estate, Tung Chun Court, Tung Shing Court, Fung Yuen Building, Hung Lee Building, Sun Lee Building, Tung On Building, Winner Mansion, i.UniQ Residence, Marina Lodge, Aldrich House, Kwok Hing Building, Douvres Building, Ka Yue Building, Fu King Building, Wing Hing Building, Tuck Wun Mansion, 341-343 Shau Kei Wan Road, 345 Shau Kei Wan Road, 348-350 Shau Kei Wan Road, 370-372 Shau Kei Wan Road, 9-11 Nam On Street, 13-15 Nam On Street, Grand Metro East, Sun Cheong Building, Hyde Castle, Yick Ga Building and Lee Fat Mansion in Eastern District and Cheung Lung Wai Estate, Royal Green, 8 Royal Green, Glorious Peak, Yung Shing Court, Cheong Shing Court and Fai Ming Estate in North District for voluntary testing through the property management companies.

     The K&TDO started to distribute rapid test kits to households, cleansing workers and property management staff living and working in Tierra Verde, Villa Esplanada, Broadview Garden, Tsing Yi Garden, Mount Haven, Greenfield Garden and Grand Horizon for voluntary testing through the property management companies.

     The STDO also distributed rapid test kits to households, cleansing workers and property management staff living and working in Shek Mun Estate, Greenhill Villa, Castello, Hong Lam Court and Kwong Yuen Estate for voluntary testing through the Housing Department and the property management companies.

     The TWDO also distributed rapid test kits to households, cleansing workers and property management staff living and working in Tsuen Wan Plaza, Skyline Plaza, Dao Shing Building, On Hong Building, Tak Yan Building and Joyful Building for voluntary testing through the property management companies, the owners' corporations and the Tsuen Wan Anti-Coronavirus Link. 

     In addition, the KTDO and the WTSDO will distribute rapid test kits to households, cleansing workers and property management staff living and working in Lok Wah South Estate, Lok Wah North Estate, Upper Ngau Tau Kok Estate, Lower Ngau Tau Kok Estate and Chun Wah Court in Kwun Tong District and Grand View Garden, Kingsford Terrace, Fu Shan Estate, King Shan Court, King Lai Court, Sun Lai Garden and King Hin Court in Wong Tai Sin District for voluntary testing through the property management companies.

     The HAD made the above arrangements in the hope of identifying infected persons early.

     People who obtained positive results through a rapid antigen test for the first time can make a report via the online platform Declaration System for Individuals Tested Positive for COVID-19 Using Rapid Antigen Test (www.chp.gov.hk/ratp/). If individuals encounter difficulties in using the online platform, they can call the automated system at 183 6119 to register their identification document and telephone number. The Centre for Health Protection will contact the relevant person later to finish the report procedure.

     The Government appeals for the co-operation of members of the public to safeguard the health of themselves and their families by undergoing testing on a voluntary basis and fighting the virus together. The Government urges all individuals who are in doubt about their own health condition, or individuals with infection risks (such as individuals who visited places with epidemic outbreaks or had contact with cases that tested positive), to undergo testing promptly for early identification of infected persons to reduce the transmission risks of COVID-19.
