The Government noted that the Air Transport Licensing Authority (ATLA) issued a licence to Greater Bay Airlines Company Limited (Greater Bay Airlines) today (February 21).
The Government welcomes ATLA's decision. The licence approval to Greater Bay Airlines demonstrates that the market has full confidence in the prospect of the aviation industry in Hong Kong. The Government believes that Greater Bay Airlines will provide more diversified air services to the market and will further strengthen the air transport connectivity between Hong Kong, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and other parts of the world. This will play a positive role in upholding Hong Kong's status as a leading international aviation hub.
While the epidemic persists, the Government will continue to take forward anti-epidemic measures together with the aviation industry and at the same time prepare for the recovery. The Government hopes to start anew with various sectors in post-epidemic times, bringing Hong Kong's economic development back to the right track.
