Government to arrange COVID-19 testing for residents living at Block 8 of Kwai Shing West Estate
The Government is very concerned about a number of COVID-19 confirmed cases appeared at Block 8 of Kwai Shing West Estate recently.
The Housing Department has arranged deep cleansing for the common area of the whole building and is assisting the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health to distribute specimen bottles to the residents at Block 8 for the deep throat saliva test. The residents should return the specimen bottles to the collection point in the lobby of Block 8 before 11am tomorrow (December 7).
To facilitate residents who are unable to submit deep throat saliva tomorrow morning, the Government has arranged for the contractor (BGI) to conduct free throat and nasopharyngeal swab test for residents of Block 8 at the Kwai Shing Community Hall tomorrow.
For the well being of the residents and public health safety, the Government appeals to the co-operation of all residents of Block 8 to participate in the testing and stay home until the results of the tests are available, so as to prevent the risk of spreading the virus in the community.
The Government has also arranged delivery of food packs by Yan Chai Hospital Social Services Department to the elderly living at Block 8 to facilitate them to stay home.
