Government responds on issuance of press identification

     Regarding an online report that an organisation (香港新è�žå‚³åª’管ç�†ä¸­å¿ƒ) has been issuing press cards and journalist cards in Hong Kong since February 19, 2013, a government spokesman gave the following response today (September 27):
 
     Hong Kong does not have any official organisation responsible for issuing press identification. Media representatives invited to cover open events of the Government are required to produce valid work passes issued by their respective media organisations for identification purposes. In case of doubt, government officials will call the media organisations concerned directly for verification.
