Government announces latest situation of fresh food supply from Mainland

     A Government spokesman announced today (February 24) that the supply of fresh food from the Mainland remained largely steady yesterday (February 23).

     According to the latest information, the throughput volume of vegetables from the Mainland for supply through the wholesale markets of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) and the Vegetable Marketing Organization yesterday (as at midnight) was about 689 tonnes, around 70 per cent of the volume of a normal day. The overall wholesale price remained steady. The supply of chilled poultry yesterday remained steady at around 70 per cent of that of a normal day, whilst the supply of chilled meat is normal. Regarding live pigs, due to the pandemic, the Sheung Shui Slaughter House will only provide limited services, including live pig slaughtering services.
