Government announces additional hotel under fourth cycle of Designated Quarantine Hotel Scheme

â€‹The Government announced today (June 25) one additional temporary designated quarantine hotel (DQH) under the fourth cycle of the Designated Quarantine Hotel Scheme. Along with the 31 hotels announced on May 20 and the two additional hotels announced on June 3, there will be a total of 34 hotels in the fourth cycle of the Scheme which runs from June 20 to August 31, providing over 9 300 rooms.

In response to the recent strong demand for hotel rooms in the fourth cycle of the Scheme as observed in the past couple of weeks, approvals have recently been given to DQHs with blocked-off rooms to release around 1 400 blocked-off rooms. Together with the additional temporary designated quarantine hotel announced today, the latest total supply of DQH rooms will be increased to around 10 700.

A Government spokesman said, "To further increase the supply of DQH rooms in the fourth cycle, apart from liaising with those fourth-cycle DQHs announced earlier to release their blocked-off rooms for booking, the Government also secured one additional hotel as a temporary designated quarantine hotel. We trust that these measures will better meet the demand of travellers to Hong Kong. The Government will continue to closely monitor the situation."

The updated list of designated hotels in the fourth cycle (see Annex) and related details, including room rates, will be uploaded to the thematic webpage at www.designatedhotel.gov.hk.
