The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesperson today (October 24) said that 13 general out-patient clinics (see table below) will provide services on the day following the Chung Yeung Festival (October 26). Members of the public are reminded to make advance bookings for appointments either through the Telephone Appointment System or the "Book GOPC" function in the "HA Go" mobile application.
The spokesperson remarked that the Accident and Emergency (A&E) Departments in public hospitals will also operate as usual during the holiday to serve patients with urgent medical needs. As the Emergency Response Level has been activated in public hospitals in response to the latest situation of COVID-19, infection control measures have been enhanced with universal mask wearing for all persons entering public hospitals and clinics. Non-urgent patients are advised to consider seeking consultations at general out-patient clinics, private doctors or the 24-hour clinics of private hospitals.
Given the unsteady COVID-19 epidemic situation locally, the spokesperson urged the public to continue with social distancing and avoid going to crowded places. Even when relaxing in outdoor open space, personal and environmental hygiene should be maintained. Elderly people should stay at home as far as possible and avoid going out to prevent infection.
