FSD fully supports National Security Education Day (with photos)
In response to and support of National Security Education Day, the Fire Services Department (FSD) held an open day today (April 14) at the Fire and Ambulance Services Academy (FASA) in Tseung Kwan O, providing an opportunity to deepen the public's understanding of national security, as well as the FSD's work on safeguarding national security, public order and safety. The event attracted more than 11 000 visitors.
At the open day, exhibition boards and game booths on national security were set up to enhance public understanding of the importance of national security through interactive engagement. A flag-raising ceremony was also held with the FSD's Guard of Honour performing the Chinese-style foot drill. Moreover, simulation training facilities, a simulated Pak Shing Kok railway station, the Fire and Ambulance Services Education Centre cum Museum, and the National Security Education cum Resource Centre were open to the public. Members of the public were able to obtain information on the department's recruitment exercise and experience the physical fitness test for recruitment during their visit.
Meanwhile, the Secretary for Justice, Mr Paul Lam, SC, and the Secretary for Security, Mr Tang Ping-keung, accompanied by the Director of Fire Services, Mr Andy Yeung, visited the exhibitions and watched performances with the public at the FASA.
