FEHD staff test preliminarily positive for COVID-19
A spokesman for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) today (February 13) said that an assistant clerical officer of the FEHD tested preliminarily positive for COVID-19.
The staff works at Queensway Government Offices (QGO), is responsible for clerical work without contact with members of public and last performed duties on February 11. The staff has been wearing masks and followed relevant disease prevention measures at work.
The FEHD will conduct thorough cleaning and disinfection work at relevant places in accordance with the Centre of Health Protection's advice, and arrange staff concerned to undergo COVID-19 testing. The FEHD's pay office/shroff office at 42/F, QGO will be temporarily closed tomorrow (February 14). The information collection services under Code on Access to Information in relation to the Environmental and Hygiene Branch of the FEHD will also be affected. Limited services is expected to resume on Tuesday (February 15) after the completion of cleaning and disinfection work.
The FEHD has been strictly implementing disease prevention measures during the epidemic. Staff members are reminded to pay attention to personal hygiene and to stay vigilant. They should seek medical advice immediately if feeling unwell.
