FEHD reminds catering business operators and public again to continue complying with anti-epidemic regulations
In view of the COVID-19 epidemic situation, to minimise the risk of the spread of the virus, the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) today (November 30) reminded again catering business operators to strictly comply with the requirements and directions under the Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation (Cap. 599F), and the public to comply with the various restrictions in relation to group gatherings and mask-wearing under the anti-epidemic regulations and directions when patronising catering premises.
The FEHD also reminded persons responsible for carrying on catering businesses and scheduled premises in operation that, according to the directions issued by the Secretary for Food and Health, they must apply for a "LeaveHomeSafe" venue QR code from the Government website "LeaveHomeSafe" on or before December 2 (Wednesday), and display the QR code obtained at the entrance of the premises or at a conspicuous position within two working days upon receipt of the QR code.
An FEHD spokesman said, "To facilitate persons in charge of catering premises (including bars/pubs, night establishments/night clubs and karaoke establishments), places of public entertainment, private swimming pools and commercial bathhouses who have not yet applied for the 'LeaveHomeSafe' venue QR code, the FEHD and the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer have made special arrangements to simplify the application procedures and expedite the completion of the workflow. Applicants can enter the webpage 'Apply QR code for Catering and Scheduled Premises under Cap. 599F' of the 'LeaveHomeSafe' dedicated website (www.leavehomesafe.gov.hk/en/registration/599F/), fill in the licence number of the related FEHD licence and then verify the relevant information including the shop's name and address. If the information is correct, the 'LeaveHomeSafe' venue QR Code can then be downloaded and saved immediately. For premises which are not able to use the simplified procedures, applicants can follow the instructions on the webpage to submit their applications through the existing venue registration function."
The spokesman stressed that the FEHD will continue to step up inspections and take enforcement actions against offenders, to ensure that persons responsible for carrying on catering businesses and scheduled premises and the public strictly comply with relevant regulations so as to minimise the risk of transmission of COVID-19.
