FEHD orders Shau Kei Wan fixed-pitch hawker to suspend business for seven days

The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a fixed-pitch hawker licensee in Shau Kei Wan to suspend business for seven days as the licensee repeatedly breached the Hawker Regulation by causing street obstruction and interference of the free movement of pedestrians in the course of the trade and hawking commodities that are not specified in the licence.

The fixed-pitch hawker, located at 36 Kam Wa Street (front), Shau Kei Wan, was ordered to suspend business from today (September 23) to September 29.

"Six convictions for breaching the Hawker Regulation were recorded against the fixed-pitch hawker licensee within a period of three months. A total fine of $6,850 was levied by the court. The contraventions resulted in the seven-day licence suspension under the department's sanction mechanism for hawker licences," a spokesman for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department said.

The spokesman reminded all licensed hawkers to comply with the Hawker Regulation and licensing conditions, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
