Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tseung Kwan O last night (February 23) in which a 26-year-old man died.
At about 10.30pm, a private car driven by a 62-year-old man was travelling along Clear Water Bay Road towards Sai Kung. When approaching Razor Hill Road and turning right, it reportedly had a collision with a motorcycle driven by the 26-year-old man travelling in the opposite direction. Trailing behind the motorcycle, another motorcycle driven by a 47-year-old man reportedly failed to brake in time and bumped into the motorcycle and the private car.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the 26-year-old motorcycle driver was sent to United Christian Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 11.10pm. Besides, sustaining injuries to limbs and mouth, the 47-year-old motorcycle driver was sent to Tsueng Kwan O Hospital in conscious state.
The private car driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East is underway.
