Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tin Shui Wai today (October 12) in which a 57-year-old man died.
At about 3.42pm, a medium goods vehicle driven by the 57-year-old man was travelling along Hung Tin Road towards Yuen Long Highway, when approaching a left bend, it reportedly lost control, side turned, rammed into a central divider and then damaged a lamp post.
The driver was trapped inside the compartment and was rescued by firemen. Sustaining serious head and limbs injuries, he was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 5.32pm.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
