Fatal traffic accident in Tin Shui Wai
Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tin Shui Wai today (September 18) in which a 65-year-old man died, while four men and three women were injured.
At about 2.20pm, a public light bus (PLB) driven by the 65-year-old man was travelling along Kong Sham Western Highway towards Tin Shui Wai. When approaching Ha Tsuen, it reportedly collided with a medium goods vehicle which stopped on the highway due to breakdown.
Sustaining multiple injuries, the PLB driver was trapped inside the compartment and was rescued by firemen. He was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital in unconscious state and later certified dead at 4.24 pm. Seven PLB passengers aged between 29 and 60 were injured and sent to Tuen Mun Hospital and Pok Oi Hospital for medical treatment in conscious state.
Investigation by the Accident Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
