Fatal traffic accident in Tin Shui Wai

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident happened in Tin Shui Wai last night (September 2) in which a man died.
      
     At 9.18pm, a private car driven by a 46-year-old man was travelling along Shenzhen Bay Bridge northbound. It reportedly went out of control, rammed into an information road sign on the hard shoulder, and then bounced over the barriers before plunging into the sea.
     
   Police officers and firemen sped to the scene and conducted search and rescue operation in the vicinity. The car was located at the bottom of the sea. The driver was trapped inside the compartment and later rescued by firemen. Sustaining multiple injuries, the man was rushed to Tin Shui Wai Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 1.30am today (September 3).
     
     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is under way.
