Fatal traffic accident in Tai Po

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident happened in Tai Po yesterday (January 6) in which a man died.

     At about 5.50pm, a coach driven by a 66-year-old man was travelling along Kwong Wang Street towards Kwong Fuk Estate. When approaching a bus stop, it reportedly knocked down a 65-year-old male pedestrian, who then collided with a 67-year-old female pedestrian.

     Sustaining chest injuries, the man was sent to Prince of Wales Hospital in conscious state. He was certified dead at 7.35pm on the same day. The woman sustained limb injuries and was sent to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital in conscious state.

     The coach driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is under way.
