Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident happened in Sheung Shui today (May 1) in which a man died.
At 1.16pm, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by a 68-year-old man was travelling along Lung Sum Avenue towards Chi Cheong Road. Upon approaching near Lung Sum Lane, it reportedly knocked down a 72-year-old man who was riding a bicycle on the same road.
Sustaining multiple injuries, the 72-year-old man was rushed to Prince of Whales Hospital in unconscious state and certified dead at 2.54pm.
The MGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
