Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sha Tin today (November 11) in which a 33-year-old man died.
At 11.29am, a motorcycle driven by the 33-year-old man was travelling along Yuen Wo Road towards Sha Tin Town Hall. When approaching the junction with Sha Tin Rural Committee Road, it reportedly collided with a private car driven by a 42-year-old man. The private car lost control, rammed into the railings and then side-turned. The motorcycle further collided with a taxi driven by a 64-year-old man.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the motorcyclist was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 12.10pm. The private car driver felt unwell and was sent to Prince of Wales Hospital for medical treatment in conscious state.
The private car driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South is underway.
