Fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident happened in Mong Kok in the small hours today (May 26) in which a man and a woman died.

     At 2.46am, a motorcycledriven by a 22-year-old man was travelling along Argyle Street towards Nathan Road westbound with a 24-year-old female passenger on board, while a taxi driven by a 27-year-old man was travelling along Nathan Road northbound with a 38-year-old male passenger on board. When the motorcycle was approaching the junction of Argyle Street and Nathan Road, it reportedly collided with the taxi. A 69-year-old male pedestrian was also hit by fragments from the collision.
     
     The motorcyclist and the passenger fell out of the motorcycle. Sustaining serious multiple injuries, they were rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital in unconscious state and were certified dead at 3.55am and 3.43am respectively. The taxi driver and the taxi passenger suffered from limbs injuries, while the pedestrian suffered from face injury. They were sent to Kwong Wah Hospital in conscious state.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
