Fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok
Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok this morning (July 3) in which a 79-year-old woman died.
At 7.13am, a private car driven by a 46-year-old woman was travelling along Tong Mi Road southbound. When approaching the junction with Mong Kok Road, the car reportedly knocked down the 79-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 2pm.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
