Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Ma On Shan yesterday (August 9) afternoon in which a 25-year-old man died.
At about 2.40pm, a public bus driven by a 31-year-old man was travelling along Hang Fai Street towards Ma On Shan Road. When approaching a bus stop near Yan On Estate, it reportedly knocked down the 25-year-old man who was crossing the road.
Sustaining head injuries, the 25-year-old man was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 9.50pm.
The bus driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in early September.
Investigation will be followed up by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South.
