Fatal traffic accident in Kowloon City
Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Kowloon City today (April 1) in which a 58-year-old man died.
At about 0.05am, a private car driven by the 58-year-old man was travelling along Lion Rock Tunnel Road towards Kowloon. When approaching Lion Rock Tunnel, it reportedly lost control and rammed into a kerb inside the tunnel tube.
The driver was trapped inside the compartment and rescued by firemen. Sustaining no superficial injury, the man was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 0.48am.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team 1 of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
