Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Hung Hom this morning (January 7) in which an 85-year-old woman died.
At about 9.34am, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by a 24-year-old man was travelling along eastbound Wuhu Street. When approaching near the junction of Wuhu Street and Dock Street, it reportedly knocked down the 85-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining head injuries, the woman was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 10.00am.
The MGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
