Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Hung Hom this afternoon (August 7) in which a 78-year-old woman died.
At about 3.17pm, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 39-year-old man was travelling along Lok Shan Road. When approaching near the junction of Lok Shan Road and Cheung Ning Street, it reportedly knocked down the 78-year-old female pedestrian who was crossing the road.
Sustaining multiple injuries. the woman was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 4.21pm.
The LGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Active investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
