Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Chai Wan this afternoon (April 21) in which a 67-year-old man died.
At about 4.26pm, a 60-year-old man boarded a private car at 141 Sai Wan Ho Street. The private car reportedly lost control, rammed into a minibus stop pole, three stationary motorcycles, and knocked down two pedestrians after running onto the pavement.
Sustaining serious multiple injuries, the 67-year-old man was sent to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 4.52pm. Besides, sustaining shoulder injuries, a 51-year-old man was sent to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in conscious state
The 60-year-old private car driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island is underway.
