Engineering laboratory technician of Water Supplies Department tested positive for COVID-19
The Water Supplies Department (WSD) today (November 23) said an engineering laboratory technician of its Pak Kong Water Treatment Works Laboratory had tested positive for COVID-19 last night (November 22).
The staff member last came to work on November 17. Her job duties did not involve water treatment. There is no effect on drinking water safety.
She has been admitted to hospital for medical treatment. Staff who had close contact with her at work have undergone COVID-19 testing and the results were all negative. The WSD has thoroughly cleaned and sterilised the Pak Kong Water Treatment Works Laboratory. The department will maintain close liaison with the Centre for Health Protection. Staff have been reminded to pay attention to personal hygiene and to stay vigilant. They should seek medical advice immediately if feeling unwell.
