The electronic version of "Tide Tables for Hong Kong 2021" produced by the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) is available for free download starting from today (December 16).
The tide tables list the predicted heights and times of daily high and low waters at 12 locations in Hong Kong, namely Chek Lap Kok (East), Cheung Chau, Ko Lau Wan, Kwai Chung, Ma Wan, Quarry Bay, Shek Pik, Tai Miu Wan, Tai O, Tai Po Kau, Tsim Bei Tsui and Waglan Island.
Available in both Chinese and English, the electronic publication also includes information on the phases of the moon, which will serve as a useful reference for engineers, shipping companies, wharf and container terminal operators, yachtsmen and fishing and water sports enthusiasts.
To support green initiatives and reduce paper consumption, the HKO has ceased publishing the printed version of "Tide Tables for Hong Kong".
The full version of "Tide Tables for Hong Kong 2021" in PDF format is now available for free download at the HKO's website (www.hko.gov.hk/en/tide/tidetable2021.html).
