To promote community support for rehabilitation, the Correctional Services Department (CSD) Sports Association launched today (January 23) an online charity gift sales platform, Made in Prison (www.made-in-prison.hk), to sell products designed and made by persons in custody (PICs).
The platform offers a wide variety of products, including woodenware, ornaments, stationery, rattan products, daily necessities, environmentally friendly products, and handicrafts.
The CSD is dedicated to providing diverse vocational training courses and training for PICs to equip them with up-to-date skills and knowledge, to enhance their employability after release. In the past, products made by PICs were available for sale only on certain occasions, such as autumn fairs organised by the CSD Sports Association and at the Hong Kong Brands and Products Expos. In response to the popularity of the products, the CSD Sports Association has launched the online sales platform to allow members of the public to purchase products designed and made by PICs anytime and anywhere to support rehabilitation of PICs.
All proceeds from the sale, after deducting necessary costs, will be donated to various local registered charities, providing PICs with opportunities to contribute to the community.
