Crowd management arrangement for Halloween in Central
Police notice that some organisations have called on others online to take part in unauthorised public meeting and public procession, from Victoria Park to Central area, on October 31 night.
Based on past experience, such unauthorised assembly will impose serious threat to public order and public safety. Police have already reminded shops in the vicinity to stay tuned to the latest situation and close earlier if necessary so as to tie in with Police operations, ensuring the safety of lives and properties.
Pending on the situation on October 31 night, there is a possibility of extensive road blockage in the vicinity of Tin Hau, Causeway Bay, Wan Chai, Admiralty and Central, breaching public peace and public order. Members of the public should avoid travelling to the concerned area when public disorder occurs. Police may also close some of the roads if necessary. Cooperation and understanding from members of public will be very much appreciated.
Any interested group who intends to hold a public event is required to submit a notification to Police as soon as practicable for liaison and discussion.
Police appeal to any organisation that if they intend to hold any public events, they should notify the Police as soon as practicable to facilitate the necessary arrangement.
