Correctional officers stop fighting among remand persons in custody
Correctional officers at Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre stopped a fight among two remand persons in custody yesterday (June 3).
At 9.51pm yesterday, two male remand persons in custody aged 21 and 30 engaged in a fight inside a dormitory. An officer immediately called for reinforcement to stop the fight.
During the incident, one of the persons in custody sustained injuries to his face and abdomen. He was referred to a public hospital for further treatment after examination and treatment by the institution Medical Officer. The other person in custody sustained injuries to his head, chest and more. He did not need to be sent out to a public hospital after receiving medical examination and treatment.
The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.
The two persons in custody were remanded for the offences of robbery and remaining in Hong Kong without authority.
