Correctional officers stop fight among persons in custody

     Correctional officers at Stanley Prison stopped a fight among two remand persons in custody today (September 14).

     At 7.14am, two male persons in custody, aged 30 and 35 respectively, were found fighting at the hall corridor. Officers at the scene immediately stopped the fight and called for reinforcement.

     During the incident, one of the persons in custody sustained injury to his shoulder and was required to be referred to a public hospital for further treatment after examination and treatment provided by the institution Medical Officer. Another person in custody sustained injury to his hand and did not need to be sent to public hospital after medical treatment.

     The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.

     Both persons in custody were remanded for the offence of burglary.
