Correctional officers intercept smuggling of suspected dangerous drugs into institution
Correctional officers at Stanley Prison yesterday (December 3) seized a small quantity of suspected dangerous drugs from a visitors' article to be handed in to a person in custody.
At 12.42pm yesterday, officers found a small quantity of suspected dangerous drugs concealed inside an envelope to be handed in to a person in custody from two visitors during a security check at the main gate. The case has been reported to the Police for further investigation.
A spokesperson for the Correctional Services Department said, "The department takes every measure to stop the introduction of dangerous drugs into correctional institutions in order to maintain good order and discipline in a drug-free environment for all people in its custody."
