A contractor was fined $152,000 at the Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts today (January 29) for violation of Construction Sites (Safety) Regulations. The prosecutions were launched by the Labour Department.
The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on April 18, 2021, at a construction site at the Kai Tak area. It was believed that a worker, while conducting scaffolding work at the building under construction, fell from height to the podium. The worker was sent to hospital and passed away on the same day.
