Chief Executive of HKMA expresses sorrow over passing of Sir Yang Ti-liang

The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority: 

     â€‹The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Mr Eddie Yue, today (June 24) was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Sir Yang Ti-liang.

     Sir Ti-liang was the Chairman of the Exchange Fund Investment Limited from 1998 to 2002, responsible for managing the share portfolio acquired by the Exchange Fund during the market operation in 1998.

     "During his tenure as the Chairman of the Exchange Fund Investment Limited (EFIL), Sir Ti-liang led the EFIL in successfully completing the Exchange Fund's Hong Kong equity disposal programme, and made valuable contributions to establishing the management mechanism of the Tracker Fund of Hong Kong. On behalf of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, I extend my deepest condolences to Sir Ti-liang's family," Mr Yue said.
