Change of operating hours of Shenzhen Bay Control Point for passenger clearance

A Government spokesman announced today (March 20) that the operating hours of the Shenzhen Bay Control Point (SBCP) for passenger clearance will change to 10am to 6pm daily with effect from tomorrow (March 21) until further notice.

As the local epidemic situation remains severe and the number of confirmed cases remains high, to further contain the spread of virus and to tie in with the anti-epidemic measures of the Mainland, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government and the Shenzhen Municipal Government have, after deliberation, agreed to change the operating hours of the SBCP for passenger clearance from March 21.  Members of the public are advised to avoid unnecessary cross-boundary people flow so as to prevent imposing additional health risk to both sides.  Travellers are also advised to keep abreast of and comply with the latest quarantine and testing requirements of their destinations.

The spokesman added that cargo clearance services at the SBCP will remain unchanged and continue to operate on 24-hour basis.

At present, the SBCP and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port are still providing passenger clearance services among the land control points.  In view of the epidemic development, the HKSAR Government and the Shenzhen Municipal Government have twice adjusted the operating hours of the SBCP for passenger clearance.  The two Governments will continue to closely monitor the epidemic development and the service demand, and will adjust the operating hours of the control points as necessary.
