CE to attend NPC annual session opening meeting in Beijing
The Chief Executive, Mr John Lee, will depart for Beijing on March 4 to attend the opening meeting of the second annual session of the 14th National People's Congress on March 5. The Director of the Chief Executive's Office, Ms Carol Yip, will join the visit.
During his visit to Beijing, Mr Lee will call on central ministries to enhance co-operation and exchange. He will also witness the signing of co-operation documents between the Hong Kong Jockey Club and the National Health Commission and the Health Bureau respectively on strengthening the training of healthcare talent and commencing projects on prevention and response against local communicable diseases. The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Mr Christopher Hui, and the Secretary for Health, Professor Lo Chung-mau, will join relevant parts of the visit.
Mr Lee will return to Hong Kong on March 6. During his absence, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Chan Kwok-ki, will be the Acting Chief Executive.
