The Chief Executive, Mr John Lee, led a Hong Kong Special Administrative Region delegation to arrive in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, today (July 30) and continue their duty visit.
Upon arriving in Phnom Penh, Mr Lee attended a luncheon hosted by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Cambodia, Mr Wang Wenbin. Mr Lee expressed his gratitude for the Embassy's continuous support for exchanges between Hong Kong and Cambodia, as well as its assistance to Hong Kong residents in the country. Mr Lee said he looked forward to working closely with Ambassador Wang to further strengthen and promote the economic and trade relations between the Mainland, Hong Kong and Cambodia.
In the afternoon, Mr Lee and the delegation visited the Canadia Integrated Group in Cambodia to learn more about the development of its businesses in financial services, construction and real estate development, infrastructure, hospitality, education and healthcare. Noting that Hong Kong possesses advantages in capital, talent, technology and market resources as an international financial centre, Mr Lee said enterprises in Hong Kong and Cambodia can explore more co-operation opportunities to discover new prospects, and drive mutual prosperity and economic development.
In the evening, the delegation led by Mr Lee attended a dinner with local business leaders to promote the latest developments and advantages of Hong Kong.
Mr Lee will continue his visit in Cambodia tomorrow (July 31) and meet with the country's government and business leaders before departing for Vietnam in the afternoon.
